Melt fat. Beat sugar and eggs until creamy, add fat gradually. Grate the zest from the orange. Mix pudding powder, salt, flour, vanilla sugar, orange zest, baking powder and 1 tsp cinnamon and fold in.
Remove the peel from the apple, core it and grate it coarsely. Stir into the batter with the water. Bake 8 waffles in a row in a hot waffle iron, keep warm. Mix remaining cinnamon with powdered sugar and sift over waffles before eating. Serve with vanilla ice cream, apple puree or whipped cream of your choice.
