For the Santa Claus cookies, prepare a shortcrust pastry according to the basic recipe. Roll out, cut into strips about 4 cm wide and cut triangles from the strips with a knife.

Place the dough triangles on a baking sheet. Fold the tip over to the left and press down on the bottom dough. Bake the cookies at 180 °C top/bottom heat for about 10 minutes.

Let the cookies cool completely, while making a sugar glaze and coloring about 2/3 of it with red food coloring.

Frost the cookies with red icing, pipe dots of white icing on the bottom edge and on the top tip. Store Santa cookies in a cool, dry place.
