Instructions:

For the Nikolo and Krampus muffins, mix the dry ingredients (flour, nuts, salt, vanilla sugar, cinnamon). Peel, core and cut the apples into small pieces and mix into the dry ingredients.

Mix egg, yogurt, oil and sugar, then stir briskly into the dry mixture. Line the muffin tin with paper cups and pour the mixture into the cups. The muffins should be 2/3 full.

Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove the finished muffins and let them cool. In the meantime, knead the marzipan with some powdered sugar, roll it out and cut out half-moon shaped beards, bishop’s caps, horns and tongues with a knife.

Form eyes and noses from marzipan balls. Melt the chocolate coating with a little butter in a water bath. Brush the muffins for the Krampusse with the melted chocolate coating and place the horns, eyes, nose and tongue on top.

For the Santa Clauses, brush the back of the marzipan pieces (beard, bishop’s hat, eyes, nose) with couverture to make them hold better on the muffins and position them on the muffins.

With couverture now eye points, etc. can still be applied to the marzipan parts.
