For the chocolate buttermilk muffins, beat eggs, sugar, butter and buttermilk until well blended. Sift flour and baking powder and stir into mixture.

Stir in the chopped chocolate (reserve some to sprinkle on top of the muffins). Pour the batter into the muffin cups and bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C for about 25 minutes until the chocolate buttermilk muffins are ready.
