Instructions:

For the apple dumplings, knead the ingredients into a shortcrust pastry and chill for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C degrees.

Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll it out, place the first part on a greased baking tray, put the finely chopped apples on top and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Roll out the second part and place it on the apples, pressing the edges together. Prick the surface with a fork to allow the air to escape. Finally, brush with beaten egg and bake the Apfelschlankerln in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
