Instructions:

Crumble the marzipan paste into the warmed milk and mash. Then add flour, dry yeast, salt, lemon juice and mix into a dough.

Cover the dough and let it rise for 30 minutes.

Then knead the dough again. Divide into 3 equal pieces and shape them into 35 cm long rolls.

Braid a plait.

Melt the butter and brush the braid with a third of the butter. Bake on the 2nd rack in the oven for 30 minutes.

After 15 minutes, brush with remaining butter.

Mix egg yolk and whipped cream and brush the Striezel with it, sprinkle with hail sugar.

Continue baking for 10 to 15 minutes.
