Basic recipe for yeast cake on the baking sheet:

For the dough, mix the yeast and the teaspoon of sugar with 5 tablespoons of lukewarm milk.

Sift 2/3 of the flour into a wide dish, make a hollow in the middle, pour in the dissolved yeast and cover it with flour to a thickness of about 1/2 cm. Add the sugar, the spices and the dissolved lukewarm fat or oil to the edge of the flour (these ingredients must not come into direct contact with the yeast).

As soon as the flour sprinkled on the yeast becomes very cracked, from the center stir the yeast with the flour and the remaining ingredients and still and add the remaining milk.

Beat the dough with the mixing spoon until it bubbles. Now knead in the remaining third of flour. If the dough sticks, add a little more flour (but not too much, dough must remain soft!).

Leave the dough in a warm place until it is about double in height. Then knead it well and roll it out on a greased baking sheet. Place a piece of greased paper, folded over several times, in front of the dough.

For the topping, rinse the apples, remove the skin, remove the core and cut into thick slices, or rinse and core the plums if desired. Place the fruit evenly on the dough (plums always with the inside up!).

Let the dough stand repeatedly in a warm place until it is about twice as high, and only then let it
