A simple but delicious cake recipe:

*) Ingredients for a round cake pan (diameter 26 cm) Lukewarm and dusted with powdered sugar, the cake tastes as a dessert or as a sweet snack. For nut allergy sufferers, you can easily replace the almond kernels with whole wheat flour. A pinch of cinnamon adds a special zing.

Rinse the plums, cut them open and remove the seeds. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and brush the baking pan with grease. Melt the light butter at low temperature and grind it into crumbs in a baking bowl with chopped almond kernels, the sugar, 2 packets of vanilla sugar and the flour. Sprinkle half of the crumbs into the pan and spread the plums evenly on top. Then cover with the remaining crumbs. Bake the cake in a hot oven for 25 minutes until crispy. Turn off the stove and let the cake cool down. Mix the powdered sugar with the remaining vanilla sugar and sprinkle over the lukewarm cake.

Tip: Crumbles can be made all year round with a wide variety of fruits. Especially suitable are tart berries or baked apples. Crumbles look very pretty when prepared in portions in small souffle dishes. All varieties can also be baked with wholemeal flour.
