For the date-almond biscuits, beat egg whites with lemon juice and salt until stiff. Gradually add the powdered sugar until the mixture is thick and fluffy. Mix the starch, dates, almonds, candied orange peel and orange peel well and fold into the meringue mixture with the liqueur.

Using 2 teaspoons, place small heaps on baking sheets lined with baking paper and bake in the preheated oven at 150°C for about 30 minutes. Coarsely chop the chocolate and melt in a hot water bath.

Form a stanitzel out of baking paper, fill in the chocolate and cut off a tiny tip. Decorate the date-almond biscuits with it in the shape of a lattice and let them dry.
