A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Put all dry ingredients in baking bowl. Add the buttermilk and the beaten egg yolks, then add the butter. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold them carefully into the dough. Drop the batter by tablespoonfuls into a lightly greased, hot frying pan and fry until brown on one side. Then turn to the other side and let the other side brown. Immediately place on the table. Tastes neat with maple syrup and butter or honey.
