For the Buchteln, put flour in a bowl, crumble the yeast into a hollow, mix with a little milk, sugar and flour to form a pre-dough.
Cover and let rise for 15 minutes, add the rest of the milk, sugar and remaining ingredients and beat the dough until it bubbles. Let rise for 1/2 hour.
Now form the dough into a roll on the floured work surface and divide into about 20 equal-sized slices. Put 1 teaspoon of jam on each slice, shape into booklets and place in a buttered baking dish.
Let rise for another 1/2 hour, add melted butter and bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C for about 25 minutes. Turn out and cut into booklets. Place on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
