For the apple dumplings, mix the apple cubes with dumpling bread, flour, sugar and the egg very well. Season with cinnamon and let rest for half an hour.

Form small dumplings and let them steep in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes.

Take out the apple dumplings with a sieve scoop, pour melted butter over them and serve sprinkled with sugar, poppy seeds or grated chocolate.
