Form the cooked pasta in a greased gratin dish, season lightly with salt. Pour the cream of tomato soup over it. Spread the grated cheese evenly on top.
Bake the pasta casserole in the oven or under the broiler until the cheese is golden. Serve sprinkled with basil strips.
