Toast the breadcrumbs in the butter until golden brown.
Roll out the puff pastry and spread the breadcrumb mixture in the center. Place the cherries on top and sprinkle with sugar. Fold the dough on both sides and roll up.
Place the strudel with the “seam” down on a baking tray lined with baking paper, brush with milk and bake at medium heat until golden.
Sprinkle with sugar before serving.
