Finely dice the onion. Melt a generous amount of butter in a frying pan and sauté the diced onion until golden brown. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface. Now cut out any shapes (funny figures or round discs) with cookie cutters and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Beat the egg and brush the dough with it. Mix the roasted onion cubes with sesame or poppy seeds and spread on the dough slices. Sprinkle with grated parmesan. Place in hot oven and bake at 200 °C for 10-12 minutes until crispy. Remove, let cool slightly and serve lukewarm or cooled.
