Clean the cucumbers with a vegetable brush and soak them in salted water for a few hours.
Remove the cucumbers and pat dry.
Remove the skin from the onion.
Put the cucumbers and the onions in clean, empty screw jars.
Boil the small amount of water (ingredients) with the turnip greens and spices.
Add the bread liquor and let it get hot.
Pour the bread drink and water mixture through a sieve over the cucumbers until they are covered.
Place the dill on top to finish.
Close the jars with the screw tops.
Leave the jars to cool.
e.g. red carrots, kohlrabi, beetroot, green peppers, cauliflower florets, beans, hominy or other varieties.
Tip: Cook only with high-quality spices – they are the be-all and end-all in a good dish!
