Instructions:

Knead the lard with the powdered sugar. Mix in the remaining ingredients and let the dough rest in a cool place for 30 minutes. Then form into finger-thick rolls, brush with egg and roll in granulated sugar. Cut off nut-sized pieces and place on a buttered baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven at approx. 180 °C until light brown. Carefully remove the lukewarm Schmalz-Nuss’n from the baking sheet with a spatula.
