Using a mixer, blend yolks, egg, vanilla sugar and half the amount of sugar with 1/8 l of milk. Bring the remaining milk with the remaining sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan, stir in the egg milk and heat over low heat, but do not boil. Remove from heat and let steep for about 10 min, strain through a fine sieve. Keep warm in a water bath.
