Cut the sauerkraut into small pieces, sauté with the chopped onion in lard, add spices, fill up with soup and cook the cabbage at low heat. When the cabbage is almost ready, grate the potato into the soup and cook it heartily. Refine the sauerkraut soup with whipped cream.
