Instructions:

For the stuffed peppers with barley meal, pre-stew the peppers in water for about 5 minutes.

Cook barley meal in salted water on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Then mix with breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, herbs and spices and season to taste. Stuff into the lightly salted peppers and top each with 1/4 slice of cheese.

Place the peppers in a greased shallow baking dish, pour some liquid and bake for about 30-35 minutes at 200°.
