Instructions:

Peel the onion, chop finely. Peel the potatoes, wash and cut into small bite-sized pieces. Cut the pepper ham (or spicy ham) into pieces as well.

Heat some oil in a pot and fry the onion in it until it is nice and translucent. Add soup seasoning and paprika seasoning and deglaze with a dash of vinegar.

Now add the potato pieces and ham pieces and fry briefly. Season with salt, pepper, oregano, ground cumin and possibly some lovage (to taste) and pour in plenty of water.

Add the bay leaf and simmer until the potatoes are soft (about 20 minutes).

Meanwhile, peel the garlic cloves, chop finely. Add tomato paste and garlic cloves and cook briefly.

Season to taste or thicken with a “Sauerrahm-Mehl-Gmachtl” if too thin.

Remove the bay leaf, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
