Clean the green beans well, remove strings as needed and place in cold water for about 20 minutes. Then boil them in salted water for about 10 minutes and drain them again. Heat some olive oil in a pan and sweat the chopped onions with the fennel seeds. Mix the tomato paste with some lukewarm water, stir in and simmer for another 3-4 minutes. Add the beans, season with salt and simmer covered for another 15 minutes or so.
