Maybe your new favorite bean dish:

Clean and rinse beans. Steam with savory and a pinch of salt in a little water for 25 minutes until soft.

Cut onions into rings. Finely dice bacon and fry in a frying pan in hot oil until crispy. Remove from frying pan.

Roast onions in the same fat until golden brown. Extinguish with vinegar and season with salt and pepper. Melt butter on top.

Arrange beans with maties, bacon and onion mixture and a little thyme on four plates. Serve with boiled potatoes.
