A cake recipe for all foodies:

1. finely chop dates, raisins, apricots, plums, apple slices and ginger plums and mix with orange and lemon zest and chopped almonds. Add the gingerbread spice and sugar and then drizzle with Grand Marnier or, alternatively, apple juice.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C (convection oven not suitable). Melt the light butter in a saucepan and add to the fruit mixture with the eggs. Mix everything well. Break the butter cookies into small pieces and add them to the mixture, then sprinkle the flour on top and mix well.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Roll walnut-sized (2-3 cm dia.) balls from the mixture with moistened hands and space them on the tray. Bake the Christmas pudding balls in the oven (center) for about 20 minutes. Remove from the stove and cool.
