For the berries with marzipan cap, puree berries with sugar and pour into glasses. Cover with date-marzipan spread and refrigerate for half an hour. Serve garnished with small strawberries or raspberries.For the date-marzipan spread, stir the custard powder with 2EL milk until smooth. In a saucepan, bring the remaining milk to a boil, whisk in the pudding powder and bring to a brief boil over low heat, remove from heat and let cool. Finely grate marzipan and stir into the pudding. Remove the seeds from the dates, cut into small pieces and stir into the cream. Season the spread with rum.
