For the fruit cake, separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff. In another bowl, beat egg yolks with sugar and add butter. Beat for 2 minutes until fluffy. Add the flour and finally fold in the beaten egg whites. Grease and flour a pan and bake the mixture at 180° for about 20 minutes. Let the dough cool down well.
Spread the dough with jam (everything should be well covered) and top with the fruit cut as desired. Prepare the jelly fix as described on the packet and after it has cooled down a bit, spread it on the cake and chill it until everything is firm.
