Instructions:

For the cake for the baptism first prepare the dough. For the dough, first separate the eggs and beat the whites. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar and butter.

Now stir in the sifted flour and baking powder. Finally fold in the beaten egg whites (don’t stir too much and don’t mix either).

Pour the batter into a springform pan lined with baking paper and bake at 190 °C for about 35 minutes. Before removing the cake, check with a wooden stick if it is baked.

Let the cake cool well. Melt the white chocolate in a water bath and cover the cake with it. The edges can be left out.

Roll out the fondant thinly and cut out a half-circle with a sharp knife. You can use the springform pan for this.

Now cut the semicircle further, it should become the hood. If you want, you can now also attach a kind of cordure or / and a mesh on the edge of the hood.

From the remaining fondant cut a wide, long strip, here it is probably necessary to knead the fondant again and roll out thinly again.

Press the fondant strip onto the edge of the cake in a wave shape. Cut out a nose from the marzipan, color some marzipan blue or pink and shape a pacifier.

Details, such as eyelashes, can be shaped from fondant or marzipan scraps, or painted on with sugar lettering.

The cake for the christening is ready.
