For the minced lamb loaf with mashed potatoes, soak the bread cubes in the milk. In the meantime, finely chop the onion and sauté well in the olive oil, add the chopped garlic and sauté briefly, remove from heat and let cool.
Then put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix with a wooden spoon, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and let everything sit for half an hour.
Then form flat loaves and fry in the remaining fat of the sautéed onion for about 4 minutes on each side.
For the mashed potatoes, peel the potatoes, cut into cubes, cover with water, add caraway seeds and boil until soft. When the potatoes are soft, drain the water, add the butter and milk, season with salt and nutmeg and whisk until you get a fine creamy mixture.
Serve the minced lamb loaves with mashed potatoes.
