Instructions:

Halve or possibly quarter the red cabbage and remove the stalk. Then finely shave the cabbage and mix with a little juice of a lemon or possibly vinegar.

Sauté the onion in lard with 1 tsp sugar, add the cabbage and stew briefly. Add wine and clear soup. Remove the skin from the apples and cut them into eighths. Add the spices and apples and cook at low temperature with the lid closed for about 45 minutes. Before serving, season with salt, sugar and a pinch of nutmeg and fold in the cranberries.
