For the Lenten soup, clean and wash the carrots, peel and chop the onion. Peel and chop the garlic.

Cook the carrots, onion and garlic in the vegetable soup. Wash cabbage and green beans, chop into bite-sized pieces, add to soup and cook until al dente.

Season the Lenten soup with tomato paste, basil, oregano and salt.
