For the chocolate chip cookies, cream the butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until very fluffy, then beat in the egg well. Then briefly stir in the flour, baking powder and baking soda until a smooth dough is formed.

Fold in 2/3 of the chocolate and chill the dough for at least an hour. Spoon dough into balls about two to three inches in diameter, spacing them widely apart, onto a greased baking sheet and sprinkle with the remaining chocolate.

Bake in preheated oven at 170 °C for 14 min until light brown.
