Dough:

Lemon flavoring, sugar, flour, butter and marzipan in flakes, egg and rum at the beginning with the dough hook of the mixer, then knead with your hands until smooth. Leave the dough to cool for half an hour, then roll it out as thinly as possible on a little flour. Using a cake wheel, wheel out any shapes 4 to 5 cm long. Heat the fat (not too hot, 160 °C) and fry the dough in oil until golden brown. Remove with a skimmer and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar.

Sauce:

Blanch (scald) apricots with boiling hot water, rinse when cool and remove skin. Cut fruit in half, remove seeds, cut into cubes and stir with sugar and perhaps liqueur.

Serve with the sauce while still warm.

Tips

If you can’t get fresh apricots, you can also use canned fruit, in which case reduce the sugar or omit it altogether. Nutritional values per unit about 360 calories, 14 g fat.
