A simple but delicious cake recipe:
Cream light butter or possibly butter. gradually fold in eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar.
Combine baking powder and flour, sift over butter mixture and fold in enough milk to make the batter hard to tear off the spoon.
Pour into a greased springform pan and smooth out.
Bring poppy seeds with milk and sugar to a boil. Allow to swell for approx. 30 minutes. Rinse raisins under running water, then drain. After 20 minutes, fold into poppy seeds. Add flaked almonds. Spread the mixture on the dough base. Preheat oven to 175 °C.
For the crumble, knead flour, soft butter and sugar with your hands to make crumbles, sprinkle over poppy seed filling. Bake the cake for 45-50 minutes.
Remove from the pan, cool on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
