Instructions:

For the apple poppy seed plait, mix the butter with the remaining ingredients to form a smooth dough. Let the dough rise until it has doubled in volume. Then knead again by hand and roll out.

For the filling, peel the apple and cut into small cubes. Mix the poppy seed mixture with milk and powdered sugar until smooth and spread on the dough. Then spread the apples on top and roll up the dough.

Cut the dough in half lengthwise with a knife and braid the 2 resulting strands on top of each other. Place the braid on a baking tray and brush with milk.

Bake the apple-poppy seed braid at 180 °C top-bottom heat for approx. 40 minutes.
