For Buchteln Pikant à la Fabio, mix flour, milk, salt, dry yeast, butter, egg and vanilla sugar and blend. Then leave to rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Then form small balls from the dough and fill them with bacon, cheese and ham. Place the balls in a baking dish greased with butter. Then brush with egg yolk and bake at 190 °C until golden brown.
Piquant Buchteln à la Fabio are best served warm.
