A simple but delicious cake recipe:
For the dough: separate the eggs. Beat egg yolks and sugar until thick and creamy. Fold in brown sugar, vanilla sugar and finely chopped nuts. Whip egg whites until stiff and gently fold in with a whisk. Fill the dough into a cake springform pan (26 cm ø) lined with parchment paper. Bake in a heated oven at 180 °C , convection oven 160 °C , gas mark 3 for about 30 minutes. Cool on a cake rack. For decoration: cover edge of cake with halved almond kernels and dust thickly with powdered sugar.
