Instructions:

Introduction : Kurlaendische Speckpiroggen (or bacon cakes) are dumplings made from a sweet yeast dough with a salty bacon filling. They taste good fresh from the oven, but reheat without problems.

Preparation : Make the yeast dough and let it rise. In the meantime, finely dice the bacon and the smoked meat and mix with the other ingredients.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and place the filling in small heaps and in rows on the dough. Fold the dough over the filling. Roll out or cut the Maultaschen. Place on a baking tray, brush with a mixture of egg yolk and milk and bake for about 15 minutes.

Our tip: Use bacon with a fine, smoky note!
