For the chocolate sour cherry cake, first drain the sour cherries.
Cream butter with sugar, add yolks one at a time and keep beating until fluffy. Add a pinch of salt, lemon zest, cinnamon, nuts, almonds and melted chocolate and stir well. Sift flour with baking powder. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture alternately with the flour.
Line the bottom of a springform pan (diameter 26 cm) with baking paper, pour in the batter, smooth it out and top with the sour cherries.
Bake the cake at 200 °C for approx. 60 – 70 minutes.
Remove the chocolate sour cherry cake from the pan, allow to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
