For the cardinal slice, first beat the egg whites with the powdered sugar to egg whites, refrigerate until further processing.
Then beat the powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and yolks until foamy. Fold in flour with baking powder. Alternate white and yellow mixture on a baking tray lined with baking paper with a piping bag.
It is best to use 2 piping bags! Apply 3 strips of the white mixture and 2 strips of the yellow mixture twice! Sprinkle the dough strips evenly with powdered sugar and bake at 180 degrees top and bottom heat for 30 minutes.
While hot, brush the baking paper with cold water and carefully peel off. Let cool and then spread the lower part with cranberry jam.
Spread the whipped cream evenly on top, place the 2nd part on top and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
